Abstract

The authors present results of a study concering the artificial defoliation of two self-pollinated sunflower lines. Defolation treatments of increasing intensities on leaves in different positions were carried out at two different times of plant growth (before and during flowering). The results stress the importance of upper and intermediate leaves for yield which decreased with the increase in artificial defoliation percentale.
